Titus Webinars – March CES Digital Training w/ Titus University

Titus is holding their CES (Certified Engineering Seminars) training classes digitally due to COVID.  This event page is for their wave of classes that will occur on March 15th through 18th.  For more information about each class, see the sections below.

Engineering Credit:  All of the virtual classes will provide (1) continuing education credit hour.

Terminal Units Part I  (3/15 @ 2:00pm EST)

In part one of terminal units ‘Types and Applications’ as well as ‘Standards and Certification’ will be reviewed.  The course will look at all types of terminal units such as single duct, dual duct, fan-powered, exhaust, bypass, and induction terminals. The course will review various standards from ASHRAE, AHRI, NEC, UL, and ETL, as well as a look at seismic certification.

Part two will look at ‘Features and Options’, including inlet sensors, dampers, liners, coils, controls, motors, and filters. We’ll also look at sizing and selection of inlet ducts, fans, electric coils, and hot water coils.

Acoustics  (3/15 @ 4:30pm EST)

This course will help you understand the basics of acoustics in order to understand terminology, published performance ratings, and how lining and installations can impact room sound levels. It will also look at the differences of sound power, sound pressure and sound quality. AHRI 880/885 will also be discussed.

Air Distribution for Comfort  (3/16 @ 1:30pm EST)

This course will cover the different types of comfort cooling systems, primary fully mixed cooling. It will also cover perimeter applications mainly from overhead, not only from cooling but from heating and fixed deflection products.

Water Source I:  Understanding Chilled Beam Systems  (3/16 @ 3:00pm EST)

This first part will introduce you to the technology, compare it to centralized all-air systems and discuss some of its most advantageous applications.

Water Source I, Part 2:  Designing Chilled Beam Systems  (3/16 @ 4:00pm EST)

Part two will provide in-depth guidance for the design of chilled beam systems and introduce you to our team and the valuable design and application tools Titus offers you.

Displacement for Classrooms  (3/17 @ 3:00pm EST)

This AIA certified course will focus on displacement ventilation as it applies to classrooms. Design and application guidance for North American climate zones will be provided. In addition, the use of displacement chilled beams and DOAS air systems will be explored.

Underfloor Air Distribution Systems  (3/17 @ 4:00pm EST)

This course will introduce you to the basic concepts, provide guidance for system design and discuss the building types most the system is most suitable.

VAV Diffusers  (3/18 @ 1:30pm EST)

This course will cover how VAV diffusers work, the types of buildings they are best suited and the basics of system design.

Air Distribution for Laboratory Systems  (3/18 @ 2:30pm EST)

This course will cover how HVAC systems support Laboratory ventilation goals and objectives. Ventilation requirements will be discussed and there will be a closer look fume hoods, their use and how air distribution can affect their performance.

Air Distribution for Healthcare Facilities  (3/18 @ 3:30pm EST)

Register:  LINK

This course will review healthcare standards and guidelines. It will discuss the Wells-Riley Equation and what it means to HVAC engineers. Also, air distribution requirements for patient rooms and operating rooms will be discussed.
